Chef Channels the West Coast in Fort Atkinson

The man behind the crab is Jordan Reynolds, the young chef at Central Coast Restaurant in Fort Atkinson. He’s aiming to create a destination restaurant, and with a first place win for best appetizer (with the crab cake, of course) at the upcoming Taste of Madison, he might be on his way.

Businesses Feted for Investing $7.3 Million in Fort Atkinson

The Dance Club opened in 2008 in the Central Coast restaurant on Fort Atkinson’s south side.  “Attached to the Central Coast Restaurant, this landmark facility offers something especially unique for Fort Atkinson and Southern Wisconsin,” Goyer said. “The (Larry and Sherry) Starkweathers have refocused their efforts on their original intent of providing the highest quality dining experience.”

Mixing Business with Pleasure

Why invest $6 million in a brick-and-mortar business in an increasingly virtual age?  Because Starkweather enjoys wine and he likes to dance, he figures both should be available where he lives.  The restaurant is expected to open in June and will feature wines from the California central coast region.  The dance club will follow in the fall, ending the need for Starkweather and his wife, Sherry, a teacher in Cambridge, to go to Rockford, Ill., to indulge their hobby.
